The TOP RX success story
TOP RX’s success as a generic pharmaceutical distributor is built on high quality, low prices and outstanding service. That commitment spells higher satisfaction, savings and profits for the independent pharmacies we serve and rapid growth for us.
It all began with a one-man operation from a two-car garage. In February 1987, Kenny King saw opportunity in the rapidly expanding generic pharmaceutical industry and founded the company. TOP RX originally sold short-date and overstocked generics only, at substantial savings to the independent retail pharmacy. Original sales were approximately $40,000 per month. Orders steadily increased as TOP RX delivered on its promise of value and service.
Milestones marked our path to success. In 1989, TOP RX leased a 3,500 sq. ft. facility and grew to approximately 15 employees. Sales soon reached $600,000 per month. In 1990, we opened a sales office in New York. Today, TOP RX operates from a 23,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Bartlett, Tennessee (a suburb of Memphis) and employs more than 100 people.
TOP RX carries a complete line of generic pharmaceuticals and continues to dominate the generic market on short-dated and overstocked merchandise. Thousands of customers know our commitment to value and service. As the popularity of generics continues to grow, that commitment lights our path to continued success.
